To connect your TikTok Shop to Shopify using SPL, open the SPL app dashboard and click Connect to TikTok Shop, choose your region (United States or Global), then authorize the app inside TikTok Shop Seller Center. Once you're back in SPL, match your currency and Shopify Market, set default product dimensions and weight, and select a plan to finish setup.
That's the whole flow in one breath, but each step has a couple of choices that decide whether your products, orders, and inventory sync cleanly afterwards. This guide walks through all four steps in order, with the exact buttons to click and the settings that matter, so your TikTok Shop and Shopify store stay perfectly in sync from day one.
Connecting the two platforms is the foundation for everything else: real-time product and inventory sync, centralized order management, and automatic fulfillment updates. Get the connection right once, and you'll manage both storefronts from a single Shopify dashboard.
TikTok Shop Integration — SPL
Connect one Shopify store to one or multiple TikTok Shops and sync products, inventory, orders, fulfillment and returns in real time. Includes AI category mapping, multi-currency and multi-language support, and an in-app Power Editor for TikTok listings.
Before you begin
Two things need to be in place before the connection will go through. Have both ready and the four steps below take just a few minutes.
- An active TikTok Shop seller account in the region you plan to sell in (United States or a supported Global market). You'll authorize this account during Step 1.
- The TikTok Shop Integration — SPL app installed on your Shopify store. If you haven't installed it yet, add it from the Shopify App Store first, then open it from Apps in your Shopify admin.
Here's what you'll set up, in order: connect and authorize your TikTok Shop, match your currency and Shopify Market, set default product dimensions and weight, and choose a plan.
Watch: Connecting TikTok Shop to Shopify with SPL
Prefer to follow along on screen? This short walkthrough covers the full connection process end to end. The written steps beneath it go into more detail on each choice.
Step 1: Connect to your TikTok Shop
Open the SPL app dashboard in your Shopify admin and click Connect to TikTok Shop to start the connection.
Next, choose the region your TikTok Shop operates in. This is important, picking the wrong region is the most common cause of a failed authorization, so match it to where your shop is registered.
If your TikTok Shop is based in the US, select United States.
If your TikTok Shop serves the European market, click the Global button instead.
SPL then redirects you to the TikTok Shop authorization page to confirm the link between the two platforms.
Choose your Shop country, then click Next.
After clicking Next, you'll land in the TikTok Shop Seller Center. Click the green Confirm to Install button to approve the installation.
Finally, click authorize. This completes the handshake and redirects you back to the SPL app with the connection active.
Step 2: Set up currency and region
With the accounts linked, the next job is to make sure the details in your TikTok Shop line up with the correct Shopify Market. Matching them keeps pricing, currency, and language consistent across both storefronts and prevents mismatched prices when products sync.
Select the correct Shopify Market from the list.
If you don't see the market you need, click Add Market to create a new one for TikTok Shop.
Then set the currency and language so they align with your Shopify store.
Step 3: Set up product dimensions and weight
TikTok Shop requires dimensions and weight for the products you sync, so this step makes sure nothing gets blocked for missing shipping details.
- Ideally, every Shopify product already has its dimensions and weight filled in.
- For any product that's missing those details, the app falls back to the default values you enter here.
- Enter the default dimensions and weight you'd like applied automatically whenever a product doesn't have its own.
Step 4: Select a plan and complete setup
The final step is choosing the subscription plan that fits your store's order volume and needs. SPL is free to install, with paid plans starting at $9.99/month.
- Choose the subscription plan that best suits your needs.
- Click Continue to finalize the setup.

What to do after connecting
With the connection live, these are the usual next moves to get products selling on TikTok Shop:
- Sync your products. Push your Shopify catalogue to TikTok Shop and map it to the right categories.
- Connect a warehouse. TikTok needs a warehouse as your inventory origin, even a home address. See connecting your warehouse using SPL.
- Turn on real-time inventory sync. Keep stock accurate across both platforms. See how to sync inventory in real time using SPL.
Not connected yet? TikTok Shop Integration — SPL links your Shopify store to one or multiple TikTok Shops and keeps products, inventory, and orders in sync automatically. Free to install, with plans from $9.99/month.

TikTok Shop + Shopify connection FAQs
"Update needed: your products couldn't be linked due to a location address issue", how do I fix it?
This error means TikTok Shop can't find a valid ship-from (warehouse) address for your products, so there's nowhere to link them from. It almost always comes down to a missing or incomplete warehouse. To fix it: in TikTok Shop Seller Center, add a complete, verified warehouse / pickup address (street, city, postal code and region all filled in). Then, in SPL, connect that warehouse and map your Shopify location to it so every product has an inventory origin. Save, then re-run the link/sync, the affected products should link cleanly. Full steps are in our guide on connecting your warehouse using SPL.
I'm getting "the item cannot have a weight of 0", how do I change the weight?
TikTok Shop rejects any item with a weight of zero, so every product needs a weight above 0 before it can sync. You have two ways to fix it. Per product: in Shopify, open the product, and for each variant set a weight under the Shipping section, then re-sync. Across the board: set a default weight (and dimensions) in SPL's product dimensions step, so any product missing its own weight automatically uses that default instead of 0. Update the value, re-run the sync, and the error clears.
Can I do a two-way sync between Shopify and TikTok Shop?
Yes. SPL supports two-way (bidirectional) sync — Shopify to TikTok and TikTok to Shopify. That means a sale on either platform updates inventory on the other, and orders flow back into Shopify for fulfillment, so your stock stays accurate everywhere instead of drifting out of line. You control the sync direction and rules inside the app.
My orders or warehouse aren't working, what's usually wrong?
The large majority of order and warehouse errors trace back to one thing: no warehouse connected, or a warehouse that isn't mapped to a Shopify location. TikTok Shop needs a defined inventory origin to accept and route orders. Make sure a warehouse is added in TikTok Shop Seller Center, connected in SPL, and mapped to the Shopify location that actually holds your stock. Once the location is linked and has inventory, order syncing and fulfillment updates fall into place.
Why are some of my products blocked or restricted on TikTok Shop?
TikTok Shop enforces its own list of restricted and prohibited product categories, and some categories also need extra qualifications or documents before you can list in them. If a product falls into a restricted category, or is mapped to a category that needs approval you don't have yet, it won't publish even though the sync itself worked. Check the product against TikTok Shop's product-eligibility rules, map it to an allowed category, and supply any required category information. Products outside the restricted list will sync normally.
What support does SPL offer if I get stuck?
SPL offers 24/7 support through in-app live chat, so you can get help at any hour rather than waiting on email. If your issue is more involved — a tricky sync setup, warehouse mapping, or category problems — you can also book a one-on-one meeting with an integration expert who'll walk through it with you on a call. Live chat is usually the fastest route for a quick fix.
What's the difference between the United States and Global options?
The United States option is for TikTok Shops registered in the US market, while Global covers European and other international markets. Choosing the wrong one is the most common reason authorization fails, so always pick the region where your TikTok Shop is actually registered.
Can I connect more than one TikTok Shop to a single Shopify store?
Yes. SPL supports connecting one Shopify store to multiple TikTok Shops as separate sales channels, with their own sync rules and product selections. Repeat the connection flow for each shop, choosing the correct region each time.
How much does the SPL TikTok Shop app cost?
The app is free to install, and paid plans start at $9.99/month. You choose your plan in Step 4 during setup, and full pricing details are available inside the app so you can match the plan to your order volume.
