Pricing rules in SPL let you sell the same product at a different price on TikTok Shop than on Shopify, automatically. Open the app, go to Settings, then Product Settings, click Add Rules, choose whether the rule applies to All products, specific Products, Collections or Tags, then set a fixed or percentage increase or decrease. The adjustment is applied when products sync to TikTok Shop.
Most sellers do not want identical pricing on both platforms. TikTok Shop takes commission, shipping economics differ, and promotional campaigns often need their own margin. Editing every product by hand to account for that is not realistic once you have more than a few dozen listings.
Pricing rules solve it at the catalogue level. Set the logic once, and every sync applies it. This guide covers the default price chart, all four rule scopes, and how to choose between fixed and percentage adjustments.
TikTok Shop Integration — SPL
Applies your pricing rules automatically as products sync, so TikTok Shop prices can absorb commission or run promotions without touching your Shopify catalogue. Rules can target everything, or just chosen products, collections or tags.

Here is the full setup on screen, from Product Settings through to saving a rule. The written steps below explain each scope and adjustment type in more detail.
Why sellers price differently on TikTok Shop
Selling the same item at the same price on two platforms rarely leaves the same margin. TikTok Shop charges commission on sales, promotional campaigns eat into profit, and shipping costs can differ from your usual channels. If your TikTok price simply mirrors Shopify, the difference comes straight out of your margin.
Pricing rules give you a systematic answer. Rather than editing listings one by one, you define the adjustment once and it is applied to every product the rule covers, including products you add later.
Step 1: Open Product Settings
Open the TikTok Shop Connector app in Shopify, go to Settings, then click Product Settings.
Step 2: Set your default price chart
The Default Price Chart sets a fallback price chart for products that require a size guide. It is worth configuring before you start building rules, so products needing a size guide have something to fall back on rather than failing to sync.
Step 3: Add a pricing rule
The Pricing Rule feature lets you set custom pricing for all products, or for specific products, collections or tags in your Shopify store. You choose whether to increase or decrease the price, and whether the change is a fixed amount or a percentage. The adjustment is reflected on TikTok Shop when products sync.
Click Add Rules to begin.
A pop-up appears with four scope options: All, Products, Collections and Tags.
Step 4: Choose what the rule applies to
This is the decision that matters most, because it determines how much maintenance the rule needs later. Here is a quick comparison before the detail.
| Scope | Applies to | Covers new products automatically |
|---|---|---|
| All | Every product, collection and tag in your store | Yes |
| Products | Only the individual products you pick | No, you add each one manually |
| Collections | Every product inside the chosen collections | Yes, if added to the collection |
| Tags | Every product carrying the chosen tags | Yes, if the tag is applied |
Selecting "All"
The pricing rule is applied universally across all products, collections and tags. This is the simplest option, and the right one if you want a blanket uplift to cover TikTok Shop commission across your whole catalogue.
Selecting "Products"
The rule applies only to the products you select manually. This is useful when you want to adjust a limited set of items without affecting the rest of your catalogue, for example a handful of low-margin lines that need a bigger uplift than everything else.
Selecting "Collections"
The rule applies only to products inside the collections you choose, and you can pick one or several. Any product in those collections gets the adjustment, and new products added to a collection later follow the same rule automatically. This is the option for category-based pricing.
Selecting "Tags"
The rule applies only to products carrying the tags you select, and again you can choose one or several. Any product with those tags gets the adjustment, and if you remove the tag from a product the rule stops applying to it. That makes tags the most flexible and dynamic option, since you control pricing by editing a tag rather than editing a rule.
Step 5: Configure and save the rule
Once you have chosen your scope, pick the pricing adjustment method:
- Fixed increment or decrease, which changes the price by a set amount.
- Percentage increase or decrease, which adjusts the price proportionally.
Enter your adjustment value, then click Save to apply the rule.
Fixed or percentage: which to choose
Percentage adjustments scale with price, so they suit commission, which is itself a percentage. A 10 percent uplift adds the same proportional cushion whether an item is 10 or 200 in your currency.
Fixed adjustments suit costs that do not scale, such as packaging or a flat handling fee. Be careful applying a fixed uplift across a catalogue with a wide price range, since an amount that is sensible on a high-value item can look absurd on a cheap one.

✓ Prefer percentage for commission, fixed for flat costs like packaging
✓ Use collections or tags rather than long manual product lists, so new items are covered automatically
✓ Check a few synced products afterwards to confirm the maths landed as expected
✓ Remember a fixed uplift behaves very differently on cheap and expensive items
✓ Revisit your rules when TikTok Shop changes commission or you run promotions
Pricing rules FAQs
My TikTok Shop prices are not matching the rule I set. What should I check?
Start with when the rule was created, because adjustments are applied as products sync. Products that synced before you saved the rule keep their old price until they sync again. Next, check the scope: if the rule targets Products, only the items you picked are covered, and a product added later will not be. Finally, check whether price auto-sync is enabled, since that determines whether Shopify price changes flow through to TikTok at all.
Can I charge more on TikTok Shop than on Shopify?
Yes, that is exactly what pricing rules are for. Set an increase, as a fixed amount or a percentage, and the higher price is applied to TikTok Shop while your Shopify prices stay untouched. Many sellers do this to absorb TikTok Shop commission without eating into margin.
Should I use a fixed amount or a percentage?
Use a percentage for costs that scale with price, such as commission, since the uplift stays proportional across your range. Use a fixed amount for costs that do not scale, such as packaging or handling. A fixed uplift across a catalogue with very different price points tends to look wrong at one end or the other.
Do new products automatically get the pricing rule?
It depends on the scope. With All, every product is covered including new ones. With Collections, a new product added to a selected collection follows the rule automatically. With Tags, a product picks up the rule as soon as it carries the tag, and loses it if the tag is removed. Only the Products scope requires you to add new items manually.
Does a pricing rule change my Shopify prices?
No. The adjustment is applied to the price sent to TikTok Shop when products sync. Your Shopify catalogue keeps its original pricing, which is what makes rules safe to experiment with.
What is the default price chart for?
It sets a fallback price chart for products that require a size guide. Configuring it means those products have something to fall back on rather than running into problems when they sync, which is why it is worth setting before you build your rules.
Can I run a temporary promotional price on TikTok Shop?
Yes. A practical way is to create a tag such as a promo tag, build a rule with a decrease targeting that tag, then add the tag to whichever products are on offer. When the promotion ends, remove the tag and those products revert. It is much faster than editing rules or individual listings each time.
