TikTok Shop has its own requirements for uploading and listing products. Four fields are mandatory on every single product, and a couple more apply to specific categories. If any required field is missing, the product cannot sync automatically, and the same product would be blocked from manual submission in TikTok Seller Center too.

Add required fields per product
In the Product Syncing dashboard, the app automatically detects missing required fields before it lets a product sync, so you are told what is missing rather than left guessing after a failure.
Go to Product, then Shopify products in TikTok Shop Connector by SPL.
Click Edit next to the product you want to update. A modal opens showing Product Overview, Details, Variants, and Attributes.
Switch between the tabs to edit the relevant information, then set the product's Weight, Length, Width and Height.
Add any category-specific fields while you are here, such as a size chart image for clothing or certification files for electronics, then click Save.

Extra fields for specific categories
On top of the four mandatory fields, some categories ask for more before a product can list.
Clothing and apparel
A size chart image is required, uploaded as an image file. This is what lets shoppers pick the right size and cuts down on returns, so TikTok Shop treats it as mandatory for apparel rather than optional.
Electronics and other regulated categories
Product certification files are required. You can upload up to three files, as images or PDFs. If a category needs certification you do not have, the product will not list even with every dimension filled in, so check the category requirements before you try to sync.
Barcodes (optional but recommended)
At the SKU level you can add a barcode, choosing the right type from GTIN, EAN, ISBN or UPC. If your product is exempt from barcodes you can leave this empty, but adding one improves your product health score on TikTok Shop, which is worth doing where you can.
Set default dimensions as a safety net
Editing every product by hand is not realistic for a large catalogue, and it only takes one product with no dimensions to interrupt a sync. Default Product Dimensions solve this: any product missing its own height, width or length falls back to the values you set here, so nothing gets blocked.
To set them:
- Go to Settings in TikTok Shop Connector by SPL.
- Under General Settings, scroll to Default Product Dimensions.
- Enter default Height, Width and Length values.
These defaults are applied to all products missing dimension data during sync. Set them to sensible averages for your catalogue, but treat them as a fallback, not a substitute for accurate per-product dimensions, since inaccurate sizes can lead to wrong shipping quotes.

TikTok Shop treats a weight of zero as missing, so the product needs a real weight above 0 before it will sync. Set a weight on each variant in the product edit modal, or, to cover a whole catalogue, set Default Product Dimensions under Settings so any product missing weight or size falls back to sensible values. Update the field, re-run the sync, and the error clears.
