Before you can sync inventory or fulfill orders between Shopify and TikTok Shop, you need a warehouse connected in SPL. First create a Pickup warehouse in TikTok Seller Center under My Account, then Account Settings, then Warehouse Settings, and optionally a Return warehouse. Then in the SPL app go to Settings, then Warehouses, select the TikTok warehouse, and map it to your Shopify location or All Locations. Even without a physical warehouse, you must add an address, for example your home or business address, or TikTok will not let you list.
The warehouse is your inventory origin. TikTok uses it to work out where products ship from and how stock is managed, so this one setup step underpins both inventory sync and order fulfillment. Skip it and you cannot list at all.
This guide covers creating the warehouse, connecting it in SPL, mapping your Shopify locations, turning on auto-sync, and the virtual warehouse route for print-on-demand sellers.
TikTok Shop Integration — SPL
Fetches your TikTok warehouses and maps them to your Shopify locations, so stock syncs from the right place and orders fulfill correctly. Turn on inventory auto-sync and Shopify keeps TikTok updated on its own.
Why warehouses matter in SPL
To sync inventory and fulfill orders correctly between Shopify and TikTok Shop, you must connect a warehouse using the SPL app. The warehouse acts as your inventory origin, and TikTok uses it to determine where products are shipped from and how stock is managed.
The important part, which catches a lot of new sellers, is that this is required even if you do not have a physical warehouse. You must still create one, such as your home address, in TikTok Seller Center to sync inventory. Without it, TikTok will not let you list products.
Step 1: Create a warehouse in TikTok Seller Center
You need to create a Pickup warehouse, and optionally a Return warehouse, inside your TikTok Shop account.
- Log in to your TikTok Seller Center.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Navigate to My Account → Account Settings → Warehouse Settings.
In Pickup Warehouse, click Add Warehouse.
Fill in the required fields, then click Save:
- Warehouse Name
- Contact Person
- Phone Number
- Full Address (P.O. Boxes are not allowed)
Optional: add a Return warehouse
Click Add Warehouse under the Return Warehouse section. You have two choices:
- Select Same as pickup address. You can do this directly by choosing Set as return address during the Pickup Warehouse setup.
- Or enter a different return address.
Click Save. Once saved, your warehouses appear in your TikTok Shop account and can be selected within the SPL app.
Step 2: Connect the warehouse in SPL
With your TikTok warehouse created, connect it through the SPL app to enable inventory sync.
Open the SPL app from your Shopify Admin. Your warehouse mapping option may become available immediately after connecting your TikTok Shop in SPL.
If it does not show up automatically, add it manually. In the SPL sidebar, go to Settings → Warehouses.
SPL then fetches the list of available warehouses from your TikTok Shop. If none appear, click Add/Manage Warehouse to create one on TikTok Shop.
Choose your Shopify location
Choose the Shopify location, or locations, to sync with this warehouse. You can select a specific location such as "Main Location", or choose All Locations for simplicity.
Click Save. Your Shopify inventory is now synced with your TikTok Shop warehouse.
Step 2.1: Enable inventory auto-sync
This step is optional but strongly recommended. It keeps your TikTok Shop inventory updated automatically whenever stock changes in Shopify.
- In the SPL app, go to Settings → Product Settings → Auto-Sync Settings.
- Under Enable Auto-Sync, toggle on the Inventory option.
This ensures that changes to a product's stock quantity in Shopify are pushed to TikTok Shop automatically. If auto-sync is disabled, you will need to update product inventory manually in TikTok Shop. For the full picture of stock syncing, see our guide to syncing inventory in real time with SPL.
Ready to sync stock properly? SPL maps your TikTok warehouse to your Shopify locations and keeps inventory updated automatically once auto-sync is on. Free to install, plans from $9.99/month.
Install SPL free →Setting up a virtual warehouse for print-on-demand
If you are a print-on-demand seller using Printful, Printify or similar, and have no physical warehouse, TikTok still requires a warehouse address. You have two options.
Use your print partner's fulfillment address
If your POD provider allows it, use their primary fulfillment center address. TikTok treats it as the shipment origin, even though the provider handles the actual fulfillment.
Use your business address as a virtual warehouse
If your POD provider does not allow their address to be used, enter your business address, home office, or mailing location instead.
Step 3: Confirm inventory sync
Once your warehouse is connected, SPL automatically syncs inventory from the selected Shopify locations to your TikTok warehouse. To confirm it is working:
- Monitor sync status inside the Inventory tab of the SPL app.
- Make sure each Shopify product is assigned to the correct location for accurate stock levels on TikTok.
- If you operate from multiple Shopify locations, repeat the connection process to link each one with the appropriate TikTok warehouse.
With that done, your Shopify store is ready to sync inventory with TikTok Shop in real time, giving you accurate stock levels and a clean fulfillment flow.
Warehouse setup tips
✓ Use a real full address, since P.O. Boxes are not accepted
✓ Set the return address as same-as-pickup unless you genuinely return elsewhere
✓ Choose All Locations in SPL unless you want a single location feeding TikTok
✓ Turn on inventory auto-sync so stock updates without manual work
✓ For multiple Shopify locations, repeat the mapping for each TikTok warehouse
Warehouse setup FAQs
Do I need a warehouse if I do not have a physical one?
Yes. TikTok requires a warehouse address to sync inventory, whether or not you have a physical one. You can create a warehouse using your home address, business address or mailing location in TikTok Seller Center. Without a warehouse in place, TikTok will not let you list products, so this is a required step for every seller, not just those with a physical site.
Can I use a P.O. Box as my warehouse address?
No. When you fill in the warehouse address in TikTok Seller Center, P.O. Boxes are not allowed. You need to provide a full physical address for the Warehouse Name, Contact Person, Phone Number and Full Address fields. A home or business address is fine, but it must be a genuine street address.
Should I sync a specific Shopify location or All Locations?
All Locations is recommended for most sellers, since it pools every Shopify location into the TikTok warehouse without extra management. Choose a specific location, such as Main Location, only if you deliberately want just one warehouse feeding your TikTok Shop. If you run several locations and want each linked to its own TikTok warehouse, repeat the mapping per location.
I am a print-on-demand seller. What address do I use?
You have two options. If your POD provider such as Printful or Printify allows it, use their fulfillment center address as the shipment origin. If they do not, use your own business address, home office or mailing location as a virtual warehouse. Either way, the address is only for compliance inside TikTok Shop and SPL, and does not affect the actual delivery or tracking your POD partner handles.
What happens if I do not enable auto-sync?
Your warehouse still connects and syncs, but stock updates will not be automatic. If auto-sync is disabled, you have to update product inventory manually in TikTok Shop whenever it changes in Shopify. Turning on the Inventory toggle under Auto-Sync Settings removes that manual work by pushing every stock change across automatically, which is why it is recommended.
My TikTok warehouse is not showing in SPL. What do I do?
First, the mapping option may appear automatically right after you connect your TikTok Shop in SPL. If it does not, go to Settings, then Warehouses in the SPL sidebar, and SPL will fetch the warehouses from your TikTok Shop. If none appear there, click Add/Manage Warehouse to create one on TikTok Shop, since SPL can only map a warehouse that exists in Seller Center.
Do I need a Return warehouse as well as a Pickup one?
A Return warehouse is optional. The Pickup warehouse is the essential one. If you do want returns handled, you can either set the return address as the same as your pickup address, using Set as return address during pickup setup, or enter a different return address. Save it, and it appears alongside your pickup warehouse.
