4PL fulfillment lets you ship TikTok orders using TikTok's own supported logistics partners, with TikTok acting as the integrator between you and the courier. TikTok picks the carrier based on weight, dimensions and buyer location, shipping fees come out of your seller settlement at discounted platform rates, and tracking syncs automatically the moment you print the label. In SPL you can fulfill 4PL orders two ways: from the SPL Orders dashboard, or directly inside your Shopify Admin using the SPL fulfillment block.
The appeal of 4PL is that it removes the two most tedious parts of shipping: choosing a carrier and uploading tracking. TikTok handles both. You pack the box, print the label, and hand it over.
This guide explains how 4PL works, then walks both fulfillment methods and the checks that keep the Ship Package button active.
TikTok Shop Integration — SPL
Processes 4PL TikTok orders from the SPL dashboard or straight inside your Shopify Admin, generating TikTok shipping labels and syncing tracking automatically, so you fulfill with minimal manual effort.
What 4PL fulfillment is
The 4PL, or Fourth-Party Logistics, Fulfillment feature lets merchants ship TikTok orders directly using TikTok-supported logistics partners. TikTok acts as the logistics integrator, sitting between you and the physical courier. Three things follow from that, and they are what make 4PL different from shipping with your own carrier account.
Platform control
TikTok selects the carrier for each order based on weight, dimensions and the buyer's location. You do not choose the courier.
Billing
Shipping fees are deducted directly from your seller settlement, the money you earn from the sale, often at discounted platform rates.
Tracking
Tracking numbers are generated automatically. You do not upload tracking IDs manually, they sync the moment you print the label.
Where to find 4PL orders
- Open the SPL TikTok Shop App in your Shopify Admin.
- Navigate to the Orders section.
- You will see tabs such as All, Unfulfilled, Awaiting Collection, In Transit, Delivered and Cancelled.
When an order is ready for logistics processing, the Print Shipping Labels button and shipment actions become enabled.
Method 1: Fulfill from the SPL dashboard
Step 1: Open the fulfillment window
In the Orders list, click the Ship / Fulfill action icon for the order you want to process. A popup titled Ship Package (4PL) appears.
Step 2: Choose the handover method
Under Fulfillment Details, select how the package reaches the logistics provider:
Drop Off
You personally drop the package at the courier or TikTok partner location.
Pickup
The courier collects the package from your address.
Choose whichever matches your shipping workflow.
Step 3: Ship the package
After selecting the package and handover method, click Ship Package. The system sends fulfillment data to TikTok and generates a shipment confirmation.
Step 4: Select the package to ship
Inside the popup you will see the Package ID and its Status, for example TO_FULFILL, with the product name and variant details below. Select the radio button next to the package you want to ship.
Order status updates after fulfillment
After a successful fulfillment:
- Status changes from Awaiting Shipment to Awaiting Collection or In Transit.
- Tracking information is automatically synced from TikTok logistics.
- You can monitor progress directly from the SPL Orders dashboard.
Want fulfillment with less manual work? SPL processes 4PL orders and syncs tracking automatically, from the dashboard or right inside Shopify Admin. Free to install, plans from $9.99/month.
Install SPL free →Method 2: Fulfill directly from Shopify Admin
You can also fulfill 4PL TikTok orders directly inside your Shopify Admin, without opening the SPL app dashboard. This suits merchants who manage every order from Shopify and prefer not to switch between apps.
- Go to Shopify Admin, then Orders.
- Open the TikTok order you want to process.
- Scroll down to the Blocks section.
- Click the SPL TikTok Order Fulfillment block.
- Click Create TikTok Shipping Label.
- Select the package and confirm fulfillment.
Once confirmed, the system sends fulfillment details to TikTok, generates the shipping label, and automatically syncs tracking information, exactly as the dashboard method does. For the wider order-fulfillment picture, see our guide to fulfilling TikTok Shop orders from Shopify.
Important notes and troubleshooting
✓ Always print and attach the shipping label before handing over the package
✓ If the Ship Package button is disabled, check the three conditions below
When Ship Package is greyed out, it is almost always one of these:
| Check | What it should be |
|---|---|
| Payment | The order is paid. |
| Package status | Status is TO_FULFILL. |
| Logistics availability | Logistics service is available for the region. |
If an order simply is not appearing or syncing at all, that is a different issue covered in why TikTok Shop orders fail to sync.
When to use 4PL fulfillment
4PL is the right choice when:
✓ You need automatic tracking synchronization
✓ You are operating in supported TikTok Shop regions
If you would rather choose your own carriers and manage tracking yourself, that is a different setup, covered in our guides to setting up shipping carriers and syncing tracking numbers.
4PL fulfillment FAQs
Why is the Ship Package button disabled?
It is almost always one of three things. Check that the order is paid, that the package status is TO_FULFILL, and that logistics service is available for the buyer's region. If any of those is not met, the button stays greyed out. Confirming your warehouse and pickup address are set correctly in TikTok Seller Center also helps, since a missing address can block fulfillment.
What is 4PL, and how is it different from shipping with my own carrier?
4PL means Fourth-Party Logistics, where TikTok acts as the integrator between you and the courier. TikTok selects the carrier based on weight, dimensions and buyer location, deducts the shipping fee from your seller settlement at platform rates, and generates tracking automatically. With your own carrier, you choose the courier and manage tracking yourself. 4PL trades that control for less manual work and automatic tracking.
Do I need to upload tracking numbers for 4PL orders?
No. Tracking numbers are generated automatically and sync the moment you print the label. You do not upload tracking IDs manually for 4PL orders, which is one of the main reasons sellers use it. After fulfillment, tracking information flows in from TikTok logistics and you can monitor it from the SPL Orders dashboard.
How are shipping fees charged for 4PL?
Shipping fees are deducted directly from your seller settlement, meaning the money you earn from the sale, often at discounted platform rates. You are not paying a separate carrier invoice, the cost comes out of your TikTok earnings for that order, which keeps billing consolidated on the platform.
Can I fulfill 4PL orders without opening the SPL app?
Yes. You can fulfill directly from Shopify Admin. Open the TikTok order, scroll to the Blocks section, click the SPL TikTok Order Fulfillment block, then Create TikTok Shipping Label, and select the package to confirm. It sends fulfillment to TikTok, generates the label, and syncs tracking exactly like the dashboard method, which is ideal if you manage all orders from Shopify.
What is the difference between Drop Off and Pickup?
They are the two handover methods for getting the package to the logistics provider. Drop Off means you take the package to the courier or TikTok partner location yourself. Pickup means the courier collects it from your address. Choose whichever fits your workflow when you fulfill the order.
An order has multiple packages. Which do I ship?
Some orders contain more than one package. In the Ship Package popup, each package has its own Package ID and status, and you select the correct one with its radio button before shipping. Choose carefully so the right items go to the right shipment, then repeat for any remaining packages in the order.
